About BestWalletGuide
BestWalletGuide helps European crypto users choose the right self-custody wallet and exchange — without hype and without hidden interests.
Why we exist
Most “best wallet” articles are affiliate slop: the same text with a different coin name, praising a custodial exchange as a “wallet” and claiming tests that were never performed. We do the opposite. Our guides separate four fundamentally different products — self-custody wallets, hardware wallets, custodial exchanges and buying platforms — and evaluate each with its own criteria.
What makes us different
- Every page shows its verification date, sources and changelog.
- We label everything as hands-on tested, documentation reviewed, or not yet tested.
- Exchanges are never ranked as “wallets”, regardless of commission.
- We focus on coins and networks with genuinely different wallet options — not hundreds of near-identical token pages.
Our background
BestWalletGuide was founded by a small team with practical knowledge of crypto wallets and wallet recovery. We use that expertise in our distinctive feature: a serious backup-and-recovery assessment per product — who controls the private keys, what format the recovery phrase takes, what happens if the app disappears.
Our independence
We may earn commissions through affiliate relationships (see our affiliate disclosure), but commissions never determine our rankings. The site remains useful if every affiliate link disappeared. We never claim to have tested something without evidence.
